Bristol, August 2018: It is hard to believe, as the country basks in glorious summer weather, that the festive season is coming soon, but it is less than four months' away, with seasonal menus being served at The Bristol from 23rd November, covering Thanksgiving through to New Year's Eve and every party size from tables of two in The River Grille restaurant to sit down dining for up to 300 in The Ballroom.
Thanks to its enviable location on the Harbourside in the heart of Bristol, the hotel is always popular, so it is essential to book early if you wish to secure your preferred date for your annual office party. Guests often combine a festive visit to The Bristol with a pre-party spin around the outdoor ice rink in Millennium Square or present shopping at the independents in Wapping Wharf or a wander around the Harbourside Christmas market with a glass of mulled wine in hand, all of which are within a stone's throw of the hotel.
With beautifully appointed, flexible event spaces, The Bristol can accommodate a wide range of festive celebrations, from intimate private lunches and dinners to glamorous drinks receptions and large parties catering for up to 300 people. The Christmas menu, which features a wide selection of dishes celebrating the finest local produce, is available from 23rd November to 30th December 2018.
Prices for private lunches start from £35 per person including VAT and include a welcome cocktail, three courses (each with a selection of three choices), coffee and a festive treat, plus table decorations, crackers and novelties.
Prices for Christmas parties and private dinners start from £39 per person including VAT (Sunday to Wednesday nights in December) and include a welcome cocktail, three courses (each with a selection of three choices), coffee, festive treat, table decorations, crackers, novelties and, of course, a disco so that guests can dance into the wee hours. The price rises to £43 per person including VAT if the celebration is booked Thursday to Saturday, with premium dates (namely 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th December) costing £45 per person including VAT.
Both at lunchtime and in the evenings, pre-ordered half bottles of wine cost £8 per person and a cheese box can be ordered for the table costing £45 (suitable for 10 people).
Throughout December, a seasonal menu is also being served in The River Grille, named Best Hotel Restaurant at the Bristol Good Food Awards in February 2018. With its floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlooking the twinkling lights of the Harbourside Christmas market, it is the perfect setting for a warm, inviting festive dining venue.
Also available in The River Grille, as well as the River Lounge, is The Bristol's ever- popular festive vintage afternoon tea – served between 2pm and 5pm. Expect all the delights of a traditional afternoon tea (a selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes) with a festive twist, costing £19 per person, with the chance to add a glass of Champagne for an additional £6 per person.
Less formal office parties of after-work drinks and festive nibbles are on offer in The Shore Cafe Bar, which can accommodate parties of between 10 and 100 people. Select five items from The Shore's Christmas tapas menu (including savoury and sweet options) for £15 per person (one canapé of each per person, five canapés in total per person). A minimum number and spend applies to gatherings and events in The Shore Café Bar.
For those companies seeking to hire The Shore Café Bar on an exclusive basis, The Bristol can hire a DJ on the client's behalf to get the dancing started (prices subject to date chosen).
For those wishing to stay overnight at The Bristol after a Christmas function, there are a variety of accommodation options available, from Classic Rooms through to a Suite, all offering crisp linens, supreme comfort and modern styling, with a reduced rate overnight car park fee of just £5. The perfect way to reward staff or accommodate clients, suppliers or staff members who may live outside the city.
To look after all your festive needs, The Bristol has its own dedicated Christmas Team, who can be contacted on 0117 923 0333 and who will be delighted to answer any queries and/or take bookings. Full details of The Bristol's Christmas offer can be viewed here.
