If you have ever completed an insurance claim form on return from your holiday you know it can be a less than entertaining task. Spare a thought then for the busy claims handlers at Europ Assistance- the UKs second largest travel insurer. Sometimes, however, there are claims which have true comedy value. Here are Europ Assistances top four funniest. Read them and be glad it wasn't you. 1. One claim was received for over 2000 packs of cigarettes and then a second claim for over 70 spent on pints of beer as the clients were delayed on their departure. 2. A group of lads go mule trekking in Ethiopia, they forget to feed and water the mules and they all die. The lads call for assistance asking if their travel policy includes replacement mules. As yet there is no such thing as extended warranty on mules! 3. An elderly man who suffers from haemorrhoids goes on holiday and takes his cream. He is also short-sighted and his glasses are close to breaking, so he packs a tube of super glue. He wakes up in the night needing relief from itching, doesnt put the light on as he does not want to disturb his wife, and you can guess the rest. 4. A man who becomes very hot whilst sunbathing on the beach lies in rock pool to cool off and falls asleep. He awakes to find a barnacle has attached itself to a certain part of his anatomy and is clinging on tight. He goes to hospital where an attractive young nurse tries to help him, but is impeded by his natural reaction to her beauty. In the end a male nurse is called in to cool his ardour and remove the barnacle. -ends- For further information please contact: Madeline Wall Media Relations Manager Europ Assistance Tel: 01444 444602 Email: madeline_wall@europ-assistance.co.uk For more general information on Europ Assistance please visit www.europ-assistance.co.uk Stephen Forster srf Email: Stephen@communicationmatters.co.uk Notes to Editor: On call around the clock 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Europ Assistance provides assistance in 208 countries and territories throughout the world.
