BRISBANE: Traveltrain Holidays is offering a range of iconic Queensland touring experiences with the release of the 2007/08 Outback Red and Coastal Blue season packages.

The brochures, which feature key destinational experiences, offer a new spin on travelling to some of the Sunshine States favourite holiday destinations along the coast and out west.

Coastal Blue experiences include the Discover Nature at its Best package, an eight-day holiday with rail, which takes in the best of Queensland from the iconic outback to the tropical northern rainforests, islands and stunning reef packaged with an indulgent train trip aboard the award-winning Queenslander Class on The Sunlander.

Highlights of the trip include a visit to Split Rocks famous Aboriginal rock art; 4WD trek along the Bloomfield track to Cape Tribulation; an interpretive walk in the Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge and crocodile spotting on Cooper Creek.

Food lovers can spend four nights soaking up the easygoing atmosphere of Noosa with the Travel Noosa's Food & Wine Trail package. Make tracks on this gourmet safari - meeting local growers and producers, enjoying a light lunch, and sampling the fruits of their labours: everything from aromatic spice gardens to gourmet greens, a crayfish farm, winery and vineyard.

Outback Reds Welcome Out Back to Wide Skies and Wildlife gives a taste of outback life on Nardoo Station, some 161 kilometres south of Charleville, and starts with a trip aboard The Westlander. Country home cooking will ensure guests are well fed and ready to try their hand as a jackaroo by feeding the animals, going yabbying, swimming and night spotlighting.

The 10-day Dinosaurs, Mining Lore and Outback Sunsets experience starts with a trip aboard the Spirit of the Outback to Longreach. What follows is a trek north to Hughenden, Richmond, Mount Isa and the oasis of Lawn Hill, with stops to enjoy the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Display in Winton, the Waltzing Matilda Centre, and follow the prehistoric footsteps of dinosaurs at Lark Quarry.

The Jurassic adventure continues with visits to Flinders Discovery Centre, Kronosaurus Korner, Lawn Hill National Park, World Heritage Listed Riversleigh Fossil Fields and the 'Outback at Isa' complex.

QRs General Manager of Marketing and Sales Wayne Carlson said the 2007/08 brochures were a direct result of customer feedback regarding the holiday packages they wanted to buy.

This is a great leap forward in every facet, he said. Traveltrain Holidays has moved away from a catalogue as our customers now want the iconic experiences, he said.

Our itineraries are ready to go as brochured, or Traveltrain Holidays can tailor-make experiences to suit with or without rail.

The 2007/08 brochures also feature Sunshine State holidays, with rail options built around the iconic Sunlander and rustic Spirit of the Outback trains.
