Classic Car Enthusiasts Get Ready for Amelia Island's Concours Week

Amelia Island

For classic car enthusiasts worldwide, the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in Florida is springtime's signature automotive event. This year it takes place 6th -8th March and will feature over 300 rare vehicles from seldom-seen private collections around the world.

Now in its third decade, it has become the focus of an island-wide celebration known as Amelia Concours Week (March 5-8) featuring auctions and events with rare and vintage vehicle auctions and driving experiences for the thousands of automobile aficionados that attend.

The centrepiece of the week for classic car enthusiasts is the Concours d'Elegance, now in its 25th year. Each entry into the competition is rated for its authenticity, function, history, style and quality of restoration by a team of judges that includes specialists for each car type.

Other events taking place during Concours Week include:

Porsche Driving Experience

The Porsche Driving Experience departs from the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport immediately
following the 7:00 a.m. check in. Participants will travel to US Naval Station Mayport in their personal vehicles where they will enjoy activities to include an autocross in one of the latest Porsches and a spirited ride with a professional driver.

RM Sotheby's Auction

RM Sotheby's, the official auction house of the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, will return for its 22nd annual Amelia Island sale at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island on 6-7 March, presenting approximately 150 of the world's most sought-after blue-chip automobiles.

Cars and Coffee at the Concours

Cars & Coffee at the Concours allows individuals with vintage, exotic, and collectible
vehicles to gather on the same show field used to display vehicles entered in the following day's prestigious Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Proud owners of beautiful collectible and exotic vehicles gather with like-minded enthusiasts.

Located just off the coast of northeast Florida, Amelia Island is easy to reach, but hard to forget. With 13 miles of beautiful beaches, abundant native wildlife, natural beauty, unique history and pristine waters, this barrier island has long been a popular destination for visitors looking for a relaxing holiday as well as attending some of the island's many events. For more information go to AmeliaConcoursWeek.com
