The 2004 United States Grand Prix weekend is primed to offer a nonstop adventure with a host of activities and events packed into a stimulating September weekend. Tickets are still available for the weekend�s capstone event, the United States Grand Prix, which will feature the world�s most technically advanced open-wheel machines fighting their way through the 2.606-mile road course. Consistent with Indianapolis� reputation as the �Racing Capital of the World,� the United States Grand Prix race joins the Speedway�s other two races, the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400, as three of the largest, single-day sporting events in the world. Because the United States Grand Prix is Formula One�s sole stop in the United States again, the race will draw considerable national and international attention to the city of Indianapolis.
Indianapolis, which is located just three hours from Chicago, has undergone a massive revitalization over the past two decades that has developed the city into what it is today, with a visible and lively past and a yearning for the future. Indianapolis is home to delectable restaurants, great sporting events, world-class museums, beautiful natural areas and genuine hospitality. Plus, the city has long known how to successfully host and stage international sporting events of great magnitude, including the Pan American Games and most recently, the World Basketball Championship.
Race fans can also get geared up and in the racing spirit before the United States Grand Prix at other racing events. The Ferrari Challenge series will make its third appearance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a support event for the 2004 United States Grand Prix on June 20.
