City Sightseeing racking up the accolades for top service in SA

City Sightseeing South Africa recently announced that they have won two more prestigious awards for their Johannesburg and Cape Town tours.

City Sightseeing Joburg & Soweto won an award for Best New City Sightseeing Operator of the Year, whilst City Sightseeing Cape Town won the award for Best Customer Services.  The awards were announced at the 2014 annual City Sightseeing Worldwide Conference held recently in Malaga, Spain.

City Sightseeing Joburg & Soweto and City Sightseeing Cape Town also both recently won esteemed awards as Top Performers from TripAdvisor – the world's largest travel site – making this year an extremely successful one in terms of accolades achieved by these world class tour operators.

In the category of Best New City Sightseeing Operator of the Year, City Sightseeing Joburg & Soweto beat three other finalists for the award – these were City Sightseeing in Cordoba, Kazan and Miami.  In the Best Customer Services category, City Sightseeing Cape Town beat City Sightseeing Perth, Tallinn and London.

“The winner of the Best New Operator Award is judged according to the quality of service, the overall presentation of the staff and vehicles, the marketing efforts made to launch and promote the tour, the volume of passengers achieved, and the overall representation of the City Sightseeing brand and product,” explains Mandy Gaughan, Deputy Managing Director of City Sightseeing International.

“With regards to the Best Customer Service award the key criteria was the lack of complaints received during the course of the year (City Sightseeing Cape Town had no complaints whatsoever) – coupled with the positive reviews received on TripAdvisor and other review and agent sites.  The winner was also measured against volume of passengers, together with the presentation of the brand, vehicles and customer communications – which for City Sightseeing Cape Town is excellent as they interact with customers via all the social media channels as well as through regular newsletters.”

“It was with great pleasure that we awarded these accolades to the operations in South Africa which are held up as “flag ship” locations for other tours to aspire to. Both tours achieve not only consistent high standards of service and representation of the City Sightseeing brand but also endeavour each day to grow the business to develop and improve on all that has already been achieved,” says Gaughan.

“We are pleased and honoured to have received these awards from City Sightseeing International.  City Sightseeing Joburg & Soweto and City Sightseeing Cape Town are two of 100 City Sightseeing franchises operating globally, and the fact that we beat all the others to win these awards is testament to the quality of the tours on offering and our constant efforts to ensure we provide the very best to our customers,” says Claus Tworeck, CEO of City Sightseeing South Africa.

In Cape Town, City Sightseeing runs two exciting routes, the Red City Tour and the Blue Mini Peninsula Tour – which stop at renowned spots like the V&A Waterfront, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Groot Constantia and Hout Bay.  The City Sightseeing Red City Tour is undoubtedly the best way to get to Table Mountain – one of the internationally recognised New 7 Wonders of Nature.

In Johannesburg the City Sightseeing bus follows a fascinating and ground-breaking route through the Johannesburg CBD that visits stops such as Gandhi Square, the Roof of Africa at the Carlton Centre, the James Hall Transport Museum, the Apartheid Museum, Gold Reef City, the Mining District, the World of Beer, Newtown Precinct, Origins Centre at Wits, Braamfontein, and Constitution Hill.

There is also an exciting Soweto Tour extension on offer that takes visitors to the most culturally rich and historically significant places in the township of Soweto.

Connecting with the City Sightseeing bus is a quick hop on the Gautrain from any of the stations, stopping at the Gautrain Park Station where City Sightseeing has just opened their new Tour Office.  Starting your sightseeing experience by connecting via the Gautrain is highly recommended.
