Citadel Band and Bagpipers to Perform Free Concert in NMB

Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce

The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes will return to the Grand Strand Saturday, April 17, to perform at the North Myrtle Beach Community Center on Possum Trot Road.

The concert is sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the city of North Myrtle Beach, and the North Myrtle Beach Times.

The 106-member Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes performs throughout South Carolina and has participated in inaugural parades and other official functions in Washington, D.C. In 1991, the ensemble earned the distinction of being the first military college band to participate in the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

The Regimental Band was formed in 1910 to provide musical support for ceremonial parades. The Pipes ensemble, consisting of 20 bagpipers, eight drummers, and a drum major, was established in 1955.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but tickets are required and will be available beginning Monday, April 5, at the NorthMyrtle Beach Community Center and Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (1200 N. Oak St., Myrtle Beach; 3401 U.S. 17 S., Murrells Inlet; and 1800 W. U.S. 501, Aynor). Only a limited number of tickets will be available.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has stood for 63 years as the unified voice of the Grand Strand�s business community. The chamber serves Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Little River, Atlantic Beach, Garden City Beach, Loris, Conway, Aynor, Murrells Inlet, Litchfield Beach, and Pawleys Island.
