Visitors to the Bath & North East Somerset Council-run Roman Baths can choose from an exciting range of festive food this Christmas – from exclusive seasonal dining overlooking the Great Bath to 'stew in a box' from a pop-up stall at Bath's famous Christmas market.

Terrace Dining

Enjoy festive dining with a very special view. The Terrace forms part of the Roman Baths complex and overlooks the waters of the Great Bath. It is a magical setting for dinner for up to 80 guests and is usually reserved for private events and functions. However, for a few nights only during the festive season this unusual space will be transformed into a restaurant and open to the public offering traditional dishes and Christmas specials.

• Saturday 19 December
• Sunday 20 December
• Monday 21 December
• Tuesday 22 December
• Wednesday 23 December

Set Christmas menu: two-courses £24.75, three courses £30.00. Pre-booking essential. Reservations can be made between 7pm and 9pm on the nights stated above.

Stew in a Box

Don't miss the pop-up stew shop at this year's Bath Christmas Market. Located outside the Pump Room (Abbey Church Yard side) the Christmas chalet will sell 'Stew in a Box', with options including beef and apricot, sausage and tomato, and butternut squash and mushroom. The stall will be open throughout Bath Christmas Market (26 November-13 December). Desserts, tea, coffee, locally made mulled wine, cider and even champagne are also available.

Roman Baths Kitchen

Roman Baths Kitchen will be serving delicious takeaway food from a stall outside the restaurant on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during Bath Christmas Market. There will also be a special Christmas menu for diners in the restaurant (pre-booking and pre-ordering essential, groups welcome).

Pump Room Restaurant

The Pump Room Restaurant will be open until 7.30pm on the following nights:

• Friday 27 November-Wednesday 2 December
• Sunday 6 December-Tuesday 8 December
• Thursday 10 December
• Sunday 13 December

From 5pm to 7.30pm (last orders 7pm) visitors can enjoy a festive drink from the '12 cocktails of Christmas' menu accompanied by 'mini supper pots' containing stews served with mashed potato, or seasonal puddings. The signature Pump Room afternoon tea will also be available until late on these nights.
