A fine malt A roaring log fire A bracing walk on the beach.. Christmas and Hogmanay at the Old Course Hotel
For the very first time the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa (www. oldcoursehotel.co.uk / 01334 474371) opens its doors for a magical Christmas House Party celebration. From Christmas Eve right through until Hogmanay, there is lots to enjoy whether its just for two, a group of friends or the whole family.
The festivities begin on Christmas Eve when, on arrival at the hotel, guests will be greeted by a choir of carol singers and a warming glass of mulled wine or eggnog. After settling in and a hearty supper, guests are welcome to wrap up warm and head to one of the local churches in St Andrews for Midnight Service.
Christmas Day promises an exquisite, traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, followed by an afternoon of relaxation, movie screening, board games galore and a surprise visit from you know who, bearing gifts.
Boxing Day is the time to start burning the calories with a walk along the beautiful West Sands or a round of golf on the hotels own Championship Dukes Course just in time to squeeze into the New Year outfit! For those preferring a more leisurely approach, the hotel offers a range of other activities including a tutored whisky tasting, cookery demonstration or a treatment in the Kohler Waters Spa. In the evening, the festivities culminate in an elegant black tie drinks reception and a spectacular five course gala dinner.
Hogmanay in Scotland is all about a fresh start and seeing in the New Year with friends and family. This Hogmanay guests at the Old Course Hotel are welcomed with traditional warm Scottish hospitality, mulled wine and mince pies. New Years Eve is celebrated with a champagne drinks reception followed by the spectacular Hogmanay Gala Ball with a magnificent five-course dinner and live band. As Scottish pipes herald in 2007, toast to good fortune and dance the night away.
