Chile Named Best for Adventure: Explore with The Latin America Travel Company

Just Travel PR

Chile has been named the number one destination for adventure tourism by Lonely Planet, for the third year in a row, and bespoke travel operators The Latin America Travel Company can provide a tailor-made adventure holiday to this thrilling destination.

An adventure Chile holiday with The Latin America Travel company includes desert trekking, horse riding, quad biking and camping in eco domes.

The Latin America Company's recommended Chile adventure starts with two nights in Santiago. Here travellers can experience a bike tour of the city – the perfect way to take in the sights and enjoy the great outdoors.

From Santiago, travellers will head on to the famous Atacama region for a four-night stay. This incredible area is home to some of the most outstanding natural landscapes in the world, and there is no end to the adventurous ways in which to explore these fascinating terrains.

Thrilling explorations include quad biking to the Moon Valley, a magical geologic spectacle of colours and textures, whose terrain has been compared to that of the moon.

Next, take on mounting biking through Death Valley, another spectacular desert terrain, home to ancient riverbeds, rock formations, and lunar landscapes.

From here trek through the Salt Mountain Range - the largest salt flat in Chile which was formed millions of years ago – on to the Devil's Canyon.

Also included in The Latin America Company's adventure tour, is the opportunity to go horse riding through the Atacama Desert -  the driest desert in the world.

The final day in Atacama is spent trekking along the Grande River, travelling along the country's old Inca road system, which was at one point the most advanced and extensive road system in South America, and is now a UNESO World Heritage Site. Along the trek take in the ancient architecture of the country, as well as the fascinating wildlife including llama pastures.

From Atacama, the tour travels onwards to the charming lakeside town of Puerto Varas, enjoying a day of biking and beer near the town of Frutillar. This section of the tour also includes rafting on the Petrohue river that flows out from the emerald green Todo Los Santos lake, surrounded by snow-capped volcanoes and beautiful views.

The grand finale of the trip will see explorers take on the famous W Trek in Torres del Paine National Park, which last over four to five days and takes in three of the park's most iconic landmarks - Valle Francés, Base of the Towers, and Glacier Grey.

The multi-day hike will include camping overnight at the park's atmospheric eco domes – the world's first ever dome hotel and Patagonia's first ever eco-hotel.

These unique eco domes were modelled on the ancient shelters of the region's Kaweskar people, and are 100% sustainable.

John Stanley, Founder of the Latin America Travel Company says, “We are absolutely delighted to see Chile has yet again been named the best country for adventure travel, and we can't think of any other country more deserving.
