Paris' next-generation Palace hotel, Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris, launches a series of inspired activities for children and teenagers ...and chooses the chic French children's wear fashion brand, BONPOINT as a partner
True to its own very distinct and creative spirit, Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris has unveiled a totally original, inspirational children's programme, Le Petit Royal. At its heart is a line-up of weekend workshops to be held during Brunch on Saturday at the hotel's Michelin-star restaurant La Cuisine.
The workshops will be led in both French and English by professional artists, and each one is closely linked to major cultural events in the capital. Up-coming workshops this Autumn will be inspired by iconic 20th Century artists - all of whom have exhibitions in Paris at the time, so children can see their work on display.
The first workshop will look at the work of pioneering cubist Georges Braque, as a major exhibition opens at the Grand Palais (Saturday 28 September); then pop artist Roy Lichenstein moves into the spotlight, marking the start of a major exhibition of his work at the Centre Pompidou (Saturday 12 October); and Pablo Picasso is the source of inspiration when the Picasso Museum re-opens in November, after a two year renovation (Saturday 30 November).
Also on offer are movie screenings in the hotel's chic Cinéma Katara; pizza-making classes with the chefs of the Michelin-starred Italian restaurant Il Carpaccio; and teenagers can even get down with the hotel's mobile recording studio and learn to be a DJ with music mixing lessons.
Outside the hotel they can discover the best bits of Paris, with treasure hunts through the Louvre's Egyptian galleries, 'pirate' boat trips down the Seine - or the girls can choose to follow in the footsteps of a prima ballerina for the day.
All the activities under the Le Petit Royal banner at Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris will be coordinated by Maria de la Chica, the newly-appointed, bubbly Director of Children's Relations. Originally from Santander, Spain and a graduate of Switzerland's prestigious Les Roches Hotel Management School, Maria has been part of Le Royal Monceau's guest relations team since its re-opening in 2010.
And because this is Paris, there must be designer fashion! Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris is also delighted to be partnering with French children's wear couture house BONPOINT - the embodiment of Parisian chic and BCBG.
Rich in savoir-faire, and a true Parisian artisan fashion house, BONPOINT has a reputation for beautiful, quality products created with passion and attention to detail. With more than 100 stores around the world, through 27 countries - from Paris to St Petersburg, New York to Sao Paulo, Tokyo to Shanghai and Dubai. BONPOINT is the French brand for children, with its own particular style, full of humour, magic and charm, with inspired shop windows and welcoming boutiques.
To make each stay at the hotel unforgettable, BONPOINT has created an adorable kitten named 'Royal' who will welcome each young visitor at Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris. And delightful BONPOINT gifts will also make younger guests feel super special. The BONPOINT skin care line for children and its signature Eau de Toilette will be available in each bathroom. With extracts of orange blossom, cotton blossom and cherry, this line is ultra-natural and hyper allergenic - wonderfully free of parabens for young skin.
Omer Acar, General Manager at Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris, is delighted with this new exclusive partnership:
"We share a vision of Parisian chic with BONPOINT - a particular sense of luxury and a creative spirit that is constantly evolving."
"Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris is a place where art is omni-present, where the imagination constantly wanders. It is important for us to offer our youngest guests an engaging and ambitious programme of activities to keep them entertained, ensuring their stay with Raffles will be full of happy memories - and the first of many to come..."
