Chiesa del Carmine Is Offering A *Special Spring Offer*

Chiesa del Carmine

Often referred to as the 'green heart of Italy', Umbria's countryside is at its best during spring, with rolling fields of flowers and longer balmy days. From traditional flower festivals to asparagus hunting, guests of the Chiesa del Carmineestate will have the most glorious and luxurious base in which to explore this stunning Italian region. Guests who book and stay before 23rd May 2014 will receive a complimentary in house dining experience created by the estates very own chef.

Known for its exquisite food, wine, art and culture all year round, Chiesa del Carmine located at the foot of Monte Tezio in a protected valley in the Umbrian countryside is the perfect starting point for an Italian adventure. This 11th Century church has been beautifully returned to its former glory with its adjoining 18th century farmhouse over the last five years to create a thriving farm complete with ancient olive groves, four grape varieties and the estate's very own truffle wood. Following a magnificent restoration process, the property is now a luxuriously chic country house sleeping up to 14 guests. The property even has a heated swimming pool, so even on those fresher Spring days, guests can enjoy an outdoor swim with views down to the valley and across to the Apennines.

The list of 'things to do' and 'things to see' during these months are some of the best during the year.

When the winter rains have petered out and the first warm day sun makes an appearance, the area sounding this country house is the perfect location and time for wild asparagus hunting. 'Hunting' may seem a little over the top when describing the much-loved local activity however guests of the estate will soon realise how hard it is to spot domestic asparagus! For those wanting a challenge, step out doors and roam the fields and woodlands spotting and picking shoots as you go. The estate manager can then organise for a professional chef to create an asparagus inspired menu for dinner in the high tech kitchen with the fresh asparagus guests have just picked.

Something not to be missed is 'Infiorate di Spello', a flower art festival hosted in the city of Spello where petals are used by residents to create amazing works of art including flower tapestries which are then displayed in the streets. 'Infiorates' take place all over Italy, but Spello is still known as one of the most traditional and beautiful festivals where locals come from far and wide to enjoy.

Local wildlife is abundant and during April and May guests are likely to come across deer, wild boar, springtime fireflies and the hoopoe bird. Visitors are also spoilt with cultural hotspots such as Assisi close by, private wine and olive tours and picturesque walks, of which there are many. In the villa guests can find details about three wonderful local routes which meander through vineyards, olive groves and ancient ruins. Guests can also embark on springs walks along Lake Trasimeno, famed for its water sports and fishing.

*Special Spring Offer* Guests who book and stay at Chiesa del Carmine before 23rd May 2014 will receive a complimentary in house dining experience created by the estates very own chef.  Standard weekly rates during Spring start from €4,000 (*£3,326) villa only.
