Maher Bers, Chief Concierge at the new Kempinski Hotel Ishtar, Dead Sea, Jordan has just been accepted into the prestigious Clefs dOr, the first ever in Jordan and one of the youngest at just 28 years of age.
Maher joined the team at Kempinski Ishtar in time for the hotel launch in May 2006. Prior to this, Maher worked for 2 years at The Four Seasons Hotel Amman gaining invaluable experience. He has also held positions at the Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel and InterContinental Hotel Amman.
The Clefs dOr is the international association of hotel Concierges and is well established in 38 countries with over 3,200 members. A Clef dOr Concierge can be recognised by the pair of crossed keys on the back of their uniform. These keys symbolise and guarantee excellent service. Clefs dOr concierges make it a point of honour to fulfill any request a client makes, as long as the request is legal, ethical and humanly possible! They accomplish their tasks with zeal, whether it involves correspondence, messages, recommendations, reservations, organising trips or other professional tasks. When a concierge cannot fulfill a clients request themselves, they turn to their unlimited network of contacts, friends and colleagues in their own city and throughout the world, until they find a way to make sure their clients expectations are met. Its quite a task to be a concierge, requiring various types of knowledge and many good qualities. A Clefs dOr Concierge must have them all!
