This August, social enterprise travel company Charitable Travel launches a 'Revive London' campaign to help the capital get back on its feet following the Covid-19 pandemic, and support London-based charities with much-needed funds, by reinforcing the message that travel is a force for good.

Staycations are proving a highly popular this year due to the ever-changing restrictions on overseas travel, and while coastal and country destinations in the UK are seeing record-breaking bookings, London accommodation, shopping, theatres, restaurants, and experiences are quieter, still have availability, and are ready to welcome visitors back responsibly, and safely. By booking a 'Revive London' package through Charitable Travel, the first of its kind social enterprise travel company, travellers are provided with the unique opportunity to donate 5% of the cost of their holiday to a London-based charity of their choice through a partnership with JustGiving, at no extra cost to themselves.

Melissa Tilling, MD of Charitable Travel commented “This past year, charities have been hit hard by the pandemic and the resulting lockdowns. Charities in London are no exception. We want to encourage travellers to Revive London this summer, by booking a trip to our beautiful capital city. Spending time in London is always a great idea, but there's no better time than now to support the restaurants, hotels, theatres and more who have been sitting empty for so long. Plus, by booking with Charitable Travel, your free 5% donation will benefit amazing charities doing exceptional work within London.”

Through this campaign, Charitable Travel are proud to be supporting Visit London's 'Let's Do London' campaign – aimed to bolster the economic recovery of London following the Covid-19 pandemic, and will feature a variety of London destinations, experiences, accommodation, and transport offers for families, couples and the LGBTQ+ community (The Pride in London parade on 11 September 2021 may have been cancelled, but that doesn't mean that there won't still be plenty of LGBTQ+ events happening across London that weekend). The aim is to excite and inspire those living both within and outside of London to explore and discover all the amazing things the city has to offer for the remainder of summer, be that for a few hours, a day, a weekend, or even longer.

Allen Simpson, Acting CEO London & Partners which runs Visit London said: “London is ready to welcome back visitors from all across the UK. Whether you are a family planning a day out at a park or theatre show, or someone looking to experience the latest restaurant opening or the one of the many new museum exhibitions, now is the time to rediscover the UKs capital city.”

Charitable Travel's London-based charity partners who will benefit from booking these offers include; Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow, and Brent, Ben Uri Arts and Health Institute, Hopscotch AWC, London Waterkeeper, Metro Charity, The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre, Opening Doors London and Richard House Hospice, and Charitable Travel's team of experts will be on hand to discuss the charity options available for all bookings.
