Celebrity Spotting in Luxurious Broome

Tourism Western Australia

Broome, the western gateway to Western Australias stunning Kimberley region, has become a celebrity hot spot in recent times, coinciding with the luxury accommodation boom that has occurred.

Stars spotted in the exotic pearling town recently include: Hollywood A-listers Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes; Victorias Secret model, Miranda Kerr and her actor boyfriend, Orlando Bloom; Rove McManus and his new wife Tasma Walton; Singer-songwriter, Missy Higgins and Australian millionaire, James Packer.

Each year in August, Broome is inundated with high profile celebrities and personalities from Australia and around the world for the annual horse racing season. The elite mingle in luxurious marquees which line the red dirt track, with the deep blue ocean visible in the background providing the perfect photo opportunity.

Attending ATE, The iconic Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa (www.cablebeachclub.com) received a $20 million upgrade last year and is a favourite with celebrities. The new onsite day spa, Chahoya offers indulgent pampering packages and treatments. Chahoya is Broomes little piece of heaven on Earth, complete with seven private suites, double vichy shower room, hair salon and yoga deck.

Cable Beach Clubs Durack Suite offers exceptional luxury. Featuring original artwork of Elizabeth Durack, this suite sleeps six in three bedrooms - each with an en suite. All rooms provide the comfort of a king size bed, spacious dining and sitting area, plus a huge balcony to maximise the view of the brilliant sunsets, and guests will easily relax in this private sanctuary. The suite includes a butler service and all of the mod cons youd expect.

The five-star Marilynne Paspaley property, Pinctada Cable Beach (www.pinctadacablebeach.com.au) opened its doors last year with an overwhelming response from luxury travellers. Attending ATE, the team from Pinctada Hotels and Resorts are more than happy to tell you about the full-service resort hotel, which is situated only five minutes walk to Cable Beach and features four Master Pearlers Suites as the centrepiece of 71 studio rooms and suites - each unique in fit-out, furnishing and dcor.

Amsara Luxury Retreat (www.amsara.com.au), which also opened in mid 2009, is set in established grounds on the escarpment overlooking north Cable Beach. Located approximately 20 minutes from town, the property is designed for the hotel weary traveller, offering an exclusive eco-friendly retreat for a maximum of six guests at one time. Each luxuriously appointed apartment offers stunning views over Cable Beach to the Indian Ocean and its magical sunsets, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the seclusion of the grounds, lagoon style swimming pool and its many shaded areas.

Providing a luxury camping option, Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat (www.ecobeach.com.au) opened last year and has already won a host of prestigious awards. Located one hours drive from Broome, Eco Beach features stunning villas, luxury tents, an Infinity pool, on site bar and restaurant, and excellent eco credentials.
