Celebrate the Spirit of ANZAC With Special Thailand Cycle Tour

Grasshopper Adventures

Cycle along the River Kwai, take a train trip on the infamous Death Railway and experience an Anzac Day to remember on Grasshopper Adventure's action-packed short-break cycle tour.

Commemorating 70years since the end of WWII, as well as the centenary of the ANZAC legend, the four-day tour brings the story of the war and the plight of the POWs to life as you ride, hike and drive the back-roads of rural Thailand.

Departing Bangkok, the trip heads straight to the famous Bridge Over the River Kwai, before visiting the ruins of an ancient city, Muang Sing, and taking a train ride along the original Death Railway tracks that claimed the lives of more than 12,000 Allied POWs.

The 109km of cycling is well spaced over three days and includes diverse terrains such as forested hills, farmland, dirt roads and rural highways.

On April 25, an early start ensures tour participants arrive at the Hellfire Pass Memorial in time for an unforgettable ANZAC Day Dawn Service, followed by a touching wreath-laying ceremony at the local cemetery.

Grasshopper's small-group tour is limited to 10 people, ensuring an intimate atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to ask questions of your local, English-speaking guide.

Fantastic and authentic Thai food is provided throughout and evenings are spent at the unique Boutique Rafts Resort, sleeping in beautifully designed lodgings that float on the river.
