The Lost Gardens of Heligan – Celebration Garden party

What could be more British than a garden party? A garden party in honour of the King, complete with a 'Best of British' picnic and a glass of Pimm's of course. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, a magical place hidden on the south coast, and once visited by King Charles III, is hosting a Celebration Garden Party on Saturday 6th May. The Coronation Ceremony will be live-streamed on a giant 3.4m outdoor screen on the Steward's House Lawn. After the ceremony, visitors can enjoy live music, a buzzing atmosphere, and a range of foods, including a special Commonwealth menu.
If this sounds like your cup of tea, then book a weekend break in Mevagissey, a quaint fishing village on the south coast, not far from The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Just the two of you? Treat yourselves to a romantic retreat at Corner House Loft, a unique and luxurious loft apartment in the heart of Mevagissey. Start the long weekend as you mean to go on with dinner at one of the local restaurants or indulge in a takeaway before ending the evening with a soak in the impressive bathtub (which is open to the bedroom!). After enjoying the ceremony on Saturday, spend Sunday exploring the local area at a leisurely pace.

Looking to spend the weekend with family or friends? Enjoy a stay at Hipnautic, a stylish home perched above the village, overlooking the harbour. Stunning views and sleek interiors promise a soothing break by the sea. Plus, the large wall-mounted TV means you can keep up to date with all the Coronation action during the weekend.

The Big Lunch Coronation Ceilidh - Bude

The seaside town of Bude on the north coast of Cornwall knows how to bring people together and celebrate in style. With not just one, but two events taking place over the bank holiday weekend. Feel like royalty and celebrate the Coronation at the aptly regal Bude Castle, where you can enjoy food, drink and live entertainment from 11am – 5pm on Sunday 7th May. Alternatively, don your fancy dress and head along to Bude Sea Pool from 2pm – 4pm, also on the Sunday, for a fancy dress competition and bake-off style competition.

If you're looking to participate in the festivities, but also seeking some relaxation and downtime, Valley View Cottages could be the perfect place to stay. Located just a short drive from the centre of Bude, you can easily head into town to participate in the fun and games before heading back to the tranquil setting of Valley View Cottages. This beautiful barn conversion, located amidst the rolling countryside was renovated into two holiday homes, Ruby and Jasmine. Both sleeping two, Valley View Cottages would be the perfect destination for two couples looking to enjoy the weekend together, while still having the luxury of separate spaces.

Eden Project – Coronation Weekend

The world-famous Eden Project is known for producing spectacular events, from light displays to music concerts. Plan a visit to the Eden Project during the Coronation weekend and be entertained by music, talks, activities and more. Plus, exclusively for the Coronation weekend, under 25's can visit for free!

Just a short drive from The Eden Project and home to the impressive tall ships is the harbour town of Charlestown, the perfect place to spend a long weekend. Stay at Driftwood, a family home for six located a short stroll from the historic harbour, and you'll be perfectly positioned to explore Charlestown. Jump in the car and after just a short drive you'll be able to enjoy the Coronation events at The Eden Project.

The King's Coronation big screen event on the Killacourt – Newquay

Pack a picnic and head to the Killacourt in Newquay, overlooking Towan Beach, to watch the live broadcast of the ceremony from 10am on Saturday 6th May on the large outdoor screen. Garden games will be available to keep the children entertained during the screening of the Coronation.
