Celebrate Global Wellness Day With a European River Cruise

AMAWATERWAYS

This Saturday (9th June) is Global Wellness Day and to celebrate, AmaWaterways are offering savings of up to £766 per person off selected itineraries that include the services of a wellness host.

AmaWaterways introduced wellness hosts on six of its European river cruise ships earlier this summer. Morning stretches, jogging, yoga, cardio/core strengthening, resistance band workouts and circuit training are all on offer. Meanwhile, guests who wish to learn more about health & wellbeing can participate in talks and discussion groups on-board, with a focus on healthy eating and relaxation techniques.

There are also plenty of opportunities to be active while exploring the local area. Excursions (which are included in the cost of the cruise) are designed to suit a range of fitness levels, but include cycling to fairytale villages and castles or taking a hike through the beautiful scenery in Provence.

The seven night 'Taste of Bordeaux' cruise departing on AmaDolce on 23 August 2018 currently costs from £2,579 per person (category D stateroom) including flights from London and transfers. The price includes a saving of £683 per person.

Alternatively, a seven night 'Paris and Normandy' itinerary departing on 28 June on AmaLyra currently costs from £2,659 per person (Category C stateroom with French balcony) including flights and transfers. The price includes a saving of £766 per person.

Other options are also available.

In addition to the Wellness Programme, AmaWaterways continues to incorporate healthy food options into its menus. Guests have access to hydration stations, breakfast vitamin shots, fresh fish along with gluten-free, low-sodium and vegetarian options.

Each ship in the award-winning European fleet is equipped with a massage room, fitness room with a treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical and more, whirlpool or swimming pool and a walking track.

Note to editors about Global Wellness Day:

The purpose of Global Wellness Day is to encourage people to think about how they can live a 'healthier and better life', whether that be by drinking more water, walking for an hour or eating healthily.

Global Wellness Day is an entirely not-for-profit day, a social project dedicated to living well. First celebrated in 2012, Global Wellness Day was established in Turkey as the “first” day dedicated to living well, and has now been accepted worldwide. Global Wellness Day 2017 was celebrated at 4,000 different locations in 100 countries. More than 5,000 different locations will be offering events in 2018.
