Meadow Afternoon Tea 09 May 2014
Celebrate the English Summer With a Floral Inspired Meadow Tea at Coworth Park

Coworth Park

(Ascot, Berkshire) Dorchester Collection's luxury country house hotel and spa, celebrates the oncoming summer with this year's launch of a Meadow Tea in The Drawing Room. Providing a summery update on traditional afternoon tea, pastries and an exclusive fragrant hand-blended tea are inspired by flowers that grow on the estate and the view of Coworth Park's famous wildflower meadow from the Drawing Room windows.

Pastries, detailed below, are accompanied by estate grown elderflower cordial, a selection of finger sandwiches and scones, and complemented by seasonal homemade compotes.

Raspberry and Rose Fancy is a twist on a British favourite inspired by the pinks and reds of Coworth Park's own rose garden with layers of raspberry and rose between light sponge.

Dark Chocolate Tart with Wildflower Honey consists of Valrhona chocolate tart with a hidden crème brulee sweetened with local Royal Berkshire honey.

Blackcurrant and Violet comprises of a moist almond sponge cake topped with blackcurrant and violet mousse decorated with candied violet touches.

Gooseberry Fool with estate picked elderflower is an exciting twist on a classic combination using local produce from Coworth Park.

Head pastry chef Luke Frost says “At Coworth Park you cannot fail to be inspired by the breathtaking wild flower meadow during the summer months. Whilst creating this year's Meadow Tea I have enjoyed the challenge of revisiting old British Afternoon Tea favourites and creating an infusion that has maintained classic flavour combinations while introducing lesser known native herbs and flowers such Sweet Cicely which is found growing within the grounds of Coworth Park.”

Meadow Tea will be served in the elegant Drawing Room when the meadow blooms, from 1 June 2014 until 31 September 2014, at 2:30pm and 4:45pm, priced at £29 per person or £42.50 per person for champagne meadow tea, excluding service charge.
