10 years on, Experience Nottinghamshire has grown to welcome almost 400 members, but of course, we will not forget Browns, who was the founding member some many moons ago.
30th Anniversary, Torvill and Dean
8 – 10 April 2014 http://dancingonicetour.co.uk/
Notts’ very own Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean became world famous at the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympics, when they were announced as gold medal winners for their perfect performance of Bolero. The pair were the highest scoring figure skaters of all time by receiving 12 perfect 6.0s from every judge.
Earlier on in the year, the pair felt it would be appropriate to say goodbye to Dancing on Ice when they celebrate 30 years of success since their magnificent gold winning performance in Sarajevo. However, they wanted to go out with a bang and announced the last ever Dancing on Ice UK arena tour in 2014.
30th Anniversary, Robin Hood Festival

Nottinghamshire’s internationally famous annual festival that celebrates the life and times of the county’s most legendary son, Robin Hood, turns 30 next year.
The Robin Hood Festival is set in the heart of Sherwood Forest, by our outlaw’s most famous hideout, the Major Oak. Every year, the event attracts vast numbers of visitors to the county and in 2013 the festival was visited by an American couple who flew thousands of miles to renew their wedding vows in Sherwood Forest, the day before the festival kicked off.

Throughout 2014
2014 will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. Trent to Trenches will host a major programme of events and activities across the city and county to mark the Centenary occasion.
The people of Nottinghamshire played a vital role in the war and so to honour the memory of those affected by the conflict, expect a whole list of programmes. Key Nottinghamshire attractions will get involved with the anniversary, from an exhibition at Nottingham Castle, performances in conjunction with the Southwell Folk Festival and a recreation of a training camp at Sherwood Pines.
