Catalonia - Catalan Tourist Board

The Ministry of Business and Knowledge, through the General Directorate of Tourism (DGT), launches the Virtual Tourism Office of Catalonia. This new personalized service transfers to the digital environment the service that the Network of Tourist Offices of Catalonia already offers in person.

Through a live chat application located on the Catalonia's Government tourism promotion website, users can make inquiries, expand information and resolve doubts about any tourist experience in the destination in a space managed by a team of 35 informants from the General Directorate of Tourism.

In addition, the same tool allows you to attend inquiries by videoconference to receive exactly the same attention that you would find in person at the desk of any of the 5 offices in the network. By appointment requested through the tool chat, the informant and the user can agree on a date for the online meeting. The staff of the Tourist Office Network will prepare the personalized documentation in advance with the interests of the tourist and will facilitate it during the videoconference by telematic route.

In addition, the Virtual Tourism Office of Catalonia has a virtual archive of digitized tourist information and publications updated daily by the team of tourist information interpreters of the General Directorate of Tourism. All material is available to informants so that it can be provided via chat, video conference or email to users according to their preferences. With this new tool, potential visitors will receive a service of the same quality as if they attended in person, thus facilitating the planning phase of their trip.
