MELBOURNE, Victoria – Breaking the mold and making a change; Park Hyatt Melbourne recently celebrated its first day of casual dress, in its 16 years of operation. On Friday 16 October, associates of Park Hyatt Melbourne participated in 'Casual for a Cause', an initiative to raise money for Berry Street, a not for profit organisation that supports children and young families who have suffered from unwelcomed hardship.
Since 2011, Park Hyatt Melbourne and Berry Street have developed a strong community partnership working on many fundraising initiatives and projects. 'Casual for a Cause is an opportunity for us to help raise awareness of Berry Street's great work with our local community' – Sharon Evans, Director of Human Resources.
Thrilled at the opportunity to wear casual clothes for a day, associates at Park Hyatt Melbourne embraced the initiative by making a gold coin donation and wearing a pin to support 'Casual for a Cause'. For many of our guests it was an unexpected arrival experience that received lots of positive praise, some sharing “it was a refreshing site, for a good cause” with others making personal donations to Berry Street.
In total, Park Hyatt Melbourne successfully raised over $400 for Berry Street.
