CLEAN & SAFE PROGRAM

The Portuguese National Tourism Board created a “Clean and Safe” stamp of approval to distinguish tourist activities which are compliant with hygiene and cleaning requirements for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other possible infections.

With this measure, Turismo de Portugal intends to inform companies on the hygiene requirements and cleaning measures to ensure the safety of various establishments, according to the recommendations of the DGS - Directorate-General for Health, as well as promoting Portugal as a safe destination from the point of view of care with the spread of the Virus, reinforcing the confidence of those who visit the country.

This validation is free and optional and is valid for one year. It will require the implementation of an internal protocol that will ensure the necessary hygiene measures to avoid risks of contagion and guarantee safe procedures for the operation of tourist activities. Turismo de Portugal, in coordination with the competent entities, will carry out audits of establishments that join this “Clean and Safe” initiative.

 SEA AND SUN

There is no sun or sea like in Cascais. Here, the beach is always close and there are 17 beaches for all tastes.

Whether for surfing at Praia do Guincho, discover the sea on a sailing boat or having a refreshing swim in our salty waters here all activities will be done with security and good practices that these new times demand.

As in all common public areas, as well as on the beaches it will be necessary to keep the interpersonal distance of at least 1.5 meters and to avoid gatherings with more than 10 people.

Be responsible, follow the recommendations and get carried away by the beauty of our beaches.

LIGHT

Cascais is a haven of tranquility and beauty. Here, the sun shines 300 days per year and the hot summer weather is softened by the sea breeze and mountain freshness.

This warm weather and light are being prepared for you, whether to enjoy the perfect setting for a walk in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, a stroll through the streets that will take you through portuguese history, a visit to more than 16 cultural venues in our Museum Quarter or to discover the myths of the romantic Parks of Sintra.

To do so safely, however, it is necessary to keep a distance of at least 2 meters, avoid gatherings of more than 10 people, as well as to use face masks and respect the capacity limits stipulated for monuments.

Furthermore, and whenever we talk about enclosed spaces, it is necessary to sanitize your hands regularly as well as make payments with bank cards,  not being accepted cash transactions. Comply with good safety practices and enjoy a return to normalcy with the tranquility of Cascais.
