Casas del XVI Expands its Hotel Collection
Former Home Of Internationally Renowned Dominican Fashion Designer
HOUSTON, TX August 11, 2016 -- Nestled in the heart of Santo Domingo's Ciudad Colonial (Colonial City), Casas del XVI, an exclusive and high-end collection of newly renovated houses dating back to the time of the Spanish conquistadors, will unveil its' fourth home, Casa del Diseño in the Fall 2016. The former residence of an internationally renowned Dominican fashion designer, this fabulous home will have a luxurious two bedroom presidential suite, spacious living and dining rooms, an outdoor terrace, and a courtyard with a plunge pool.
“This new home will have a freshness and ambiance that takes us back to the 16th century. Upon entering the building, guests are welcomed by brick floors and thick white walls. The commodious rooms are highlighted with bright colors, light fabrics, and images of the tropics are interwoven into the home's décor while maintaining modern amenities,” says Patricia Reid, a world-renowned interior designer, Casas del XVI.
A Sense of Seclusion
Other unusual characteristics of Casa del Diseño include the social areas, a perfect place to relax with intimate corners washed in neutral colors. This environment gives a sense of seclusion, privacy and tranquility accentuated by the neighboring church bells and running water from the courtyard plunge pool.
Casas del XVI boasts a Spanish Colonial charm with modern amenities while maintaining the stunning, romantic architecture of the old town, reminiscent of the island's earliest European settlers. All existing residences in the exclusive collection provide guests with an oasis of luxury, a personal butler, a private chef, and a concierge.
- The first house, Casa del Arbol, is decorated around the “Pineapple” theme, a symbol of hospitality to the indigenous people and the décor reflects the Dominican culture featuring local artwork, modern carved furniture, and antique tropical pieces.
- The next abode, Casa de los Mapas, or the House of Maps, has antique vintage maps once used by the early settlers on the walls.
- The third home, Casa Macorís, is where guests enjoy the calming chime of nearby church bells throughout the day, and relish the house's timeless ambiance. Thick walls and an interior garden offer a refreshingly cool interior with spaces designed for enjoyment and pure relaxation.
With the addition of the fourth home, Casas del XVI now offers guests an intimate escape with 12 rooms, which includes one presidential suite with two rooms, sprinkled between four individual houses located in a cluster in the ancient Ciudad Colonial (Colonial City).
