Take a journey to discover the exquisite flavours of Chinese cuisine at Carousel this April. The award-winning buffet restaurant will showcase authentic Chinese dishes by celebrity guest chef Lau Swee Theen (刘树田师傅) from 8 to 19 April during the lunch and dinner meal periods.
Chef Lau Swee Theen brings to Carousel over fifteen years of experience as the former Chinese Executive Chef of Wan Hao at Marriott Singapore and Chinese Master Chef at Marina Mandarin Singapore, Meritus Shantou China and Radisson Plaza Shanghai.
While specialising in Cantonese cuisine, Chef Lau is also adept in dishes with Sichuan, Shanghai and Teochew influences from his years spent in China. Two menus will be on rotation throughout the promotion period.
Chef Lau's signature dishes, which include Stir-fried Claypot Glutinous Rice with Oriental Sausages (煲仔干炒糯米饭), Slow-cooked Beef Tendon and Sirloin with White Radish (牛筋牛腩褒), Oven-baked Sea Perch Fillet with Chinese Chicken Ham in Coriander Lime Sauce (青柠汁芫西金腿鲈鱼) and Braised Lamb Shank with Chinese Mushrooms (红烧香菇小羊腿), will be featured on the menus.
Classic Chinese dishes such as Steamed Royal Chicken with Conpoy and Chinese Herbs (瑶柱贵妃鸡), Braised Homemade Pipa Beancurd Stuffed with Shrimp Paste and Water Chestnuts (绿琵琶豆腐), Braised Homemade Seaweed Beancurd with Mock Abalones, Mushrooms and Seasonal Greens (鲍丝海苔豆腐) and Noodles with Shredded Lobster and Scallop in Watercress Broth (龙虾带子西洋菜汤面) will also give guests a true taste of Chinese cuisine made from the finest ingredients.
The promotion is available from 8 to 19 April during lunch from 12pm to 2pm and dinner from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Lunch is priced at $52++ on Mondays to Fridays and $60++ on Saturdays and Sundays. Dinner is priced at $70++ on Sundays to Thursdays and $83++ on Fridays and Saturdays. Prices are subject to prevailing government taxes and 10% service charge.
