Cape Grace to Unveil Refashioned Outdoor Swimming Pool and Conservatory Area

Cape Grace Hotel

In keeping with Cape Town's accolade as World Design Capital 2014, Cape Grace is set to celebrate this coming season with an upscale and extraordinary new pool and conservatory area.

Designed to resemble a luxurious yacht deck, guests will revel in the elegant outdoor space which overlooks Cape Town's acclaimed yacht basin and Table Mountain.

Complete with a sunken lounge, rim flow pool and fashionable bar, this glamorous new area has been created to reflect distinguished trends, whilst retaining the Cape Grace's old world charm, for which the historic hotel is prominent. The new conservatory will provide the ultimate events venue in an exclusive and private area.

Nautical elements will heighten the experience of 'being at sea'; with unique maritime design features and furniture having been commissioned by some of Cape Town's leading craftsmen and designers. Changing and shower facilities, a kid's pool and disabled access will also be part of the enhanced guest offering.

Design trio - Bruce Mitton (Consultant Project Manager), Weixelbaumer Design (Interior Design), Design 360 (Structural Design) in conjunction with the Executive team at the Cape Grace has been pioneering the innovation. Responsible for the previous 2008 refashioning of the hotel, the team have in-depth knowledge of the unique luxury and charm synonymous with Cape Grace.

Construction will commence on the 23rd June and be completed by the 30th September 2014. Work will be limited to 11h00 and 17h00 daily in order to ensure minimum disruption to hotel guests.

Whilst the hotel's breakfast service will remain undisturbed, food and beverage outlets will be affected during construction hours with Signal Restaurant, Bascule and possibly the Library Terrace being closed for lunch. All the hotel kitchens will remain fully functional during the construction period and in-room private dining will be available.
