Cap Maison, Saint Lucia, Leads Fine Dining Scene with New Guest Chef Series 2023

Cap Maison

The hotel has announced Saint Lucian born, two-time MasterChef Canada alumni and finalist, Marissa Leon-John, as the first confirmed name to take part in the series at The Cliff at Cap, the hotel's award-winning onsite restaurant and beach bar and grill The Naked Fisherman.

Marissa is a highly respected and self-taught Chef and Entrepreneur, whose cuisine reflects her multicultural food background, having been influenced at an early age by Greek, Italian, Filipino and the traditional flavours of Saint Lucia and the Grenadines. Marissa will be showcasing her culinary talents at a series of dinners at Cap Maison on 6th-7th January 2023 and will kick off an impressive line-up of other internationally renowned chefs, scheduled to take place in 2023.

Since becoming a Master Chef Canada finalist, Marissa has channelled her passion and expertise to create immersive food experiences. From there, Marissa launched her private dining experience business Elle Jay's, where she shares her love of curating menus, from small parties to large corporate events and festivals. Marissa has also launched her own line of spice blends 'Fairy Dust', where she hopes to inspire home cooks to create “magical” food experiences.

Speaking about her forthcoming guest chef appearance at Cap Maison, Marissa commented:

“I am absolutely thrilled and honoured by the invitation to Cap Maison. Showcasing my culinary skills in Saint Lucia has long been a dream of mine.  I look forward to collaborating with chef Craig Jones, in what will surely be a delicious mashup of Canadian and Caribbean delights.

Ross Stevenson, General Manager at Cap Maison commented “The relaunch of the new Guest Chef Series marks an exciting time for Cap Maison, following the recent refurbishment of both our restaurants The Cliff at Cap and The Naked Fisherman. Previous Guest Chef series have proved very popular, and this year, we are delighted to welcome another impressive line-up of chefs, who will each showcase their culinary skills. The combination of exceptional food and wine with our stunning location, will make for a truly memorable, not to be missed experience.”

'The Cliff at Cap' with its French Caribbean fusion cuisine, and Executive Chef Craig Jones at the realm, is currently leading the fine dining scene in Saint Lucia, where a table in the restaurant is considered one of the most highly sought after on the island.
