www.SkiCanadaNow.com delivers a daily scoop of all the best Canadian ski destinations, resorts, mountains, events and gear from people who love to ski and snowboard
The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has teamed up with members of the Canadian Ski Council and provincial partners to launch www.SkiCanadaNow.com . This new digital hub aggregates ski and snowboard content that's as fresh as the snow falling on the mountains to highlight skiing and snowboarding in Canada and to inspire ski travellers around the world.
"We are looking to become part of the global winter sports community by creating an emotional connection with visitors through a shared passion for skiiing", says Rupert Peters, CTC's vice-president, International (interim), from the CTC's UK office. "SkiCanadaNow.com is marrying content and engagement about winter sports in Canada via different themes, topics and stories that we hope will inspire visitors to consider Canada for their next winter holiday".
SkiCanadaNow has taken a different approach to that of regular destination tourist board ski sites. Instead of reviewing runs, listing hotels, selling holiday packages or even telling you how to get there, it curates all the interesting, quirky, unusual ski and snowboard news from Canada and the winter-sports industry at large into one hub, which looks and feels like a social page and is designed to inspire and spark an interest in Canadian winter experiences.
Whats in the powder mix? SkiCanadaNow.com's content ranges from incredible photographs to heart-pounding videos to written articles that present daily news on all the best Canadian ski destinations, resorts, mountains, events and gear from people who love to ski and snowboard. Looking ahead, the CTC will invite influential names in the ski industry to share their stories through guest posts on SkiCanadaNow.com as well as using contests and social media to encourage visitors to the site and join conversations using the #SkiCanadaNow hashtag.
