Gardens by the Bay

“CELEBRATIONS!” FLORAL DISPLAY

Gardens by the Bay celebrates the festivals of Singapore’s three main ethnic groups with a series of themed floral displays in the Flower Dome. Watch the Flower Field transform each month in celebration of Hari Raya, Mid-Autumn Festival and Deepavali.

Following our Mid-Autum-themed floral display in September, the final trilogy of the “Celebrations!” display will see the Flower Field transform for the Festival of Lights. Inspired by the Kolam, a colourful Indian folk art, Amaranths, Cone Flowers and Cockscombs will lend vibrant dashes of colour, together with Indian fabric lanterns, lamps, carved wooden elephants and tapestries, to complement the display for Deepavali.

“CHRISTMAS SUGAR MOUNTAIN” FLORAL DISPLAY

Get ready for a real treat this festive season with "Christmas Sugar Mountain" at Gardens by the Bay where the Flower Field will be transformed into a whimsical display of fruits and vegetables! Starting from 20 November, the Gardens celebrates the holidays with an enchanting garden display designed by award-winning landscape designer, Kazuyuki Ishihara, transforming the horticultural centerpiece into a colourful display of fruits and vegetables, woven together with a magical story of love, hope and joy.

The display will delight the young and old with a creative arrangement of edible produce such as strawberries, pineapples, pumpkins, watermelons and tomatoes. Featuring two characters - a pineapple boy called "Ananas" and a strawberry girl called "Berry" - Ishihara’s inspiration stems from his belief in the power of food to bridge the disparities in society. Ananas and Berry have to live apart because of their different growing conditions... until one day when they stumble upon a garden with a special mountain that provides for all their needs. In this paradise of theirs, they build a home and live happily ever after. The display is a visual treat that not only tickles your imagination but helps you discover the omnipresence of plants in much of the food we eat.
