The British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions (BALPPA) has announced a busy autumn of talks and seminars for leaders in the leisure industry.
The organisation, which has over 300 members and represents the interests of the UK's commercial leisure parks, piers, zoos, visitor attractions and family entertainment and indoor play centres, is also staging its Autumn Conference on 1st-2nd October.
This year's conference is taking place in Blackpool and features an action-packed couple of days where the UK's leading leisure providers will have the chance to network and learn the latest industry updates.
Among the featured venues will be BALPPA member Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Waterpark, The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre and an overnight stay at the new Boulevard Hotel.
To kick start the annual Autumn Conference the charity golf day will be held as always the day before the event on Monday 30th September at Heron's Reach Golf Club. The tournament will be raising money for the Chairman's chosen charity, the Rainbow Trust.
The Trust provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.
On Sunday, 15th October BALPPA is hosting its first Operational Seminar at Drayton Manor Park. The event will give attendees an insight into the key aspects of operations within the leisure business.
Two days later on the 17th October they will be staging The Power of Purchasing Seminar at the Prestige Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes Express Business Park in Rushden. Free to all members, the seminar will include purchasing top tips, theme park diversification, managing and reducing energy costs, a case study based on an attraction and a tour of the Prestige Factory.
Following the successful Marketing Seminar which took place at Longleat in March of this year BALPPA has another exciting seminar planned for Wednesday, 27th November again at Drayton Manor Park.
The seminar will feature topics such as crisis PR, adding accommodation, SEO and Alexa, GDPR and understanding your audience persona. Tickets can be purchased online from the BALPPA website.
BALPPA's annual Health and Safety Seminar will take place the next day at Drayton Manor Park's Hotel with general industry updates as well as talks from the health and safety executive.
Founded in 1936, BALPPA is the non-profit-making Trade Association representing the interests of owners, managers, suppliers and developers in the UK's commercial leisure parks, piers, zoos, family entertainment centres (indoor play and soft play centres) and static visitor attractions sector.
