Since Bushwise was founded in 2006 it has earned its reputation as one of South Africa’s leading professional safari field guide training schools, accredited to the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA).

To date Bushwise has trained over 200 professional field guides, many of whom are now working at some of the finest lodges on the best game reserves in Southern and Eastern Africa. 2013 has seen the exciting launch of a second branch to Bushwise’s offerings; Hospitality internship training courses at luxury safari lodges on the game reserves of Southern Africa, allowing participantsfrom within South Africa and around the world to build on their experience in the culinary, tourism and hospitality sectors by working in a pivotal role in safari lodge operations in the exhilarating surroundings of the African wilderness.

Bushwise has excellent relationships with luxury lodges across South Africa on spectacular Game Reserves. After a 2 week bush and wilderness training and orientation course, participants will move on to their tailor-made role in lodge operations.

MAKALAKI PRIVATE GAME LODGE:

Just 5-hour’s drive from Johannesburg, Makalali is nestled on 26,000 hectares of conservancy and prevails as one of the finest private game lodges in the world. With its thatched spires and earthy walls, ancient mystical ornaments and Pan-African cuisine, Makalali offers a truly unique experience. The lodge consists of four exclusive camps situated high on the banks of the Makhutswi River, each camp offers a uniquely designed swimming pool, open air boma and an enclosed dining and lounge area. AFRICA ON FOOT:

Located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve which shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park, it is here that guests can take part in incredible walking safaris. Africa on Food Camp has five chalets ensuring an intimate and personal safari experience, as well as a pool, lounge and dining area and the traditional boma where guests can enjoy evening camp fires and traditional South African barbecues called "braais". 

KARONGWE PORTFOLIO:

NKAMBENI TEMTED CAMP:

Situated at the Numbi gate of Kruger National Park (KNP), guides take guests on whole day or half day game drives into KNP. The concession is open to the KNP and is in a great game viewing area of KNP. It is a great lodge to work at if you enjoy KNP and are interested in getting a lot of sighting experience. The permanent luxury tents offer an en-suite bedroom with air-conditioning and a private deck. The restaurant offers true South African hospitality and local food. A range of safari adventures are available at the camp.
