01 Jul 2016
Bundaberg Royal Liqueur Signature Dish competition is launching this July as part of Winterfeast 2016. For the month of July, cafes and restaurants in the Bundaberg region will showcase beautiful dishes from the abundance of raw and local produce by offering authentic farm gate to plate edible creations with their own twist and locally grown hero ingredients.
Passionate restauranteurs, cafes and culinary businesses in the region will offer a main and dessert 'Signature Dish' course on their menu highlighting a hero ingredient/s that represents the flavours of the Bundaberg North Burnett Region. They will also be serving up gluttonous 'Signature Dish' desserts showcasing a Bundaberg Royal Liqueur
This enveloping piece of culinary community engagement for the Bundaberg and North Burnett region is a first for the region to come together and showcase the very best dish that businesses can show off. Demonstrating local chef's skills and emphasising their connection to the region's producers and their abundance of produce, offers them endless marketing possibilities in capturing the local patron or visiting international traveller's tastebuds.
Tourism studies show that travellers are planning their journey around food or to visit a region known purely for their food. July provides an opportune time to launch the Bundaberg Royal Liqueur Signature Dish competition for the public to enjoy. Produce is in its prime, available in abundance and folding in beautifully into Winterfeast, to tempt visitors to return and enjoy their favourite 'dish'.
“This July will truly cement the Bundaberg region as a culinary tourism destination and foodie paradise with the offering of authentic farm gate to plate events throughout Winterfeast, complimented by the Bundaberg Royal Liqueur Signature Dish competition, igniting the Bundaberg region spirit.” Katherine Mergard, General Manager of Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism.
