The smells of sea salt and deck tar are not normally associated with a country house hotel but the arrival of the Tall Ship Mercedes in Falmouth harbour is making the perfect Easter treat for guests at the Budock Vean this weekend.

Those booking a special three night Easter break can enjoy a four hour cruise aboard the two-masted 164 foot Dutch brigantine, including lunch, courtesy of the hotel.

Visitors will get the chance to help the crew and even climb the rigging of this magnificent vessel - or just sit back and enjoy a relaxing sail around Falmouth Bay.

The cruise is among the many events taking place at the Budock Vean over Easter including guided walks, performances by a Cornish male voice choir and golf competitions.

The break is from £372 per person for three nights from Friday 29th March, which includes the cruise with lunch, room accommodation, four-course dinner and coffee each evening, full English breakfast and afternoon tea on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - plus unlimited golf, swimming, sauna, tennis and snooker. The Tall Ship sail is to take place between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 30th March subject to availability.
