Buddha Exhibition, June 3-12, 2015, MesaStila – Central Java

As the birth land of ancient Buddhist Javanese culture since the 9th century, Borobodur temple situated in Magelang, Central Java is the most visited pilgrimage temple for Buddhists coming from all over the world celebrating Vesak Day. The temple is world re-known and listed as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.

MesaStila - an award winning retreat, also located Magelang, Central Java, hidden-away in twenty-two hectares of gardens and pristine coffee plantation, has supported nearly 200 years of habitation in its various forms - from plantation owners to resort guests. This heritage site blends Colonial, Javanese and Contemporary architecture in a property that is nine hundred meters above the plains of Central Java - where all the private villas and public spaces are surrounded by lush vegetation, amazing views and immersed in exotic warmth.

Based from the above similarities and inspired by the teachings of Gautama Buddha, and in commemoration of Vesak Day, the Casa CaSinta Gallery Jogjakarta, supported by well-known international and local artists, will reflect the Buddha's life from creative hands by organizing an art exhibition at MesaStila. The opening of the exhibition will take place on June 2, 2015 from 15.00 – 17.00 hrs, and the exhibition will be open to the public from June 3 – June 12, 2015 from 8.00 – 17.00 hrs. Vesak day is an auspicious day commemorating the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. This is a charity event with all profits donated to those in need.
