The Bruthen Blues and Arts Festival is back after a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021 due to the Black Summer bushfires and Covid restrictions!
This is fantastic news for this much-loved, grass-roots festival – which will celebrate their 25th anniversary from 18 – 20 February 2022 with three days of blues and arts in and around the picturesque town of Bruthen, East Gippsland.
Headline acts include The Badloves, Jimi Hocking, and Brooke Taylor & The Poison Spitting Gin Queens – and tickets are selling fast!
The volunteer-run, weekend-long Bruthen Blues and Arts Festival opens on the Friday night at the great local music showdown, The Friday Night Jam, with music and fun continuing on until Sunday afternoon at the Sunday Recovery.
The epicentre for action is the free music event in the Main Street Gardens, where the entire town opens up to a huge market, workshops, local food and of course, that great blues sound pulsating from the live music stage.
Toe-tapping tunes and good vibes await - with jam sessions, live music, workshops, festival markets, exhibits and installations throughout the town across three days. All events are within walking distance in Bruthen, and a shuttle service is at the ready to pick up and drop off from surrounding towns.
Pocket-sized Bruthen boasts all the necessities for a fantastic short break – a brewery, a cluster of nearby wineries, galleries, antique shops, a great pub and the region's longest rail trail. It is also the stepping off point for one of Australia's most epic road trips, the Great Alpine Road, which connects Victoria's high country to the Gippsland Lakes, so be sure to stay an extra couple of days to explore the region.
