The vibrant Devonshire Fell in the Yorkshire Dales is providing those with an artistic flair the ideal opportunity to take advantage of this picturesque location for their honorary 'Ashley Jackson Paint Day' taking place Sunday 28th – Monday 29th September, 2014.
Artists and painters, from amateur to skilled are invited to be a part of this one off experience and join celebrated Yorkshire artist, Ashley Jackson for a full days painting of this iconic landscape. Ashley Jackson is one of the country's leading watercolour artists with his passionate portrayal of his mistress and 'love affair' – the Yorkshire Moors – captivating him and dominating his career for over 50 years.
Guests will join Ashley for an intimate dinner at The Devonshire Fell, along with their “Feller Artists” and after a rejuvenating night's sleep, set out the following day to follow his expert guidance and make the most of the breathtaking views surrounding The Devonshire Fell.
Breakfast and a Ploughman's lunch will also be included, along with refreshments to keep painters focused during this unique opportunity to be enjoyed al fresco if the weather permits.
Located in some of the most breathtaking countryside that England has to offer, The Devonshire Fell sits in the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, on the border of the Duke of Devonshire's 30,000 acre Bolton Abbey Estate.
The attractive Edwardian building is in a prime location for lovers of nature, with stunning views of the River Wharfe and the nearby picturesque village of Burnsall, all providing ample material for guests to create their ultimate watercolour masterpiece.
Raised in Barnsley, Yorkshire, Ashley Jackson opened his first gallery in 1963, and has since painted for Bill Clinton and had a successful long-running TV series, A Brush with Ashley, running between 1990 and 2001.
