Brownes Dublin Completes Refurbishment.

The Stein Group

Brownes in Dublin, the 11-bedroom boutique hotel in the heart of Dublin has unveiled its newly redecorated and refurbished guestrooms and public areas. The hotel, located on fashionable St. Stephens Green, has undergone a discreet facelift, retaining the original charm of the building but modernising the style and comfort of its guestrooms.

At Brownes guests are on the doorstep of the cultural, financial and political districts of Dublin. Grafton Street, the main shopping area is just around the corner and on Kildare Street, to the side of Brownes, is the Dail as well as the National Art Gallery. Trinity College is situated behind Brownes, and is a famous visitor's stop.

Located in a stylishly restored 18th century Georgian townhouse, Brownes is renowned as one of Dublins finest boutique hotels and also considered to offer one of the best dining experiences in the city, at Brownes Restaurant.

As part of the refurbishment, the hotels 11 guestrooms have been redecorated in a subtle and contemporary manner in soothing tones of teal, cream, green, lavender and midnight blue. Beds are all now king-size (even super-size in the Thomas Leighton Suite) with high thread-count cotton sheets, goose down comforters and crushed velvet bedspreads. Curtains are of raw silk while the headboards and throws come in velvet or astrakhan fabrics. Vintage lamps and flat-screen televisions complete the smart, contemporary look.

The refurbishment was carried out by Statenborough Furniture, a Kent design company which has also contributed to the design of Brownes sister property, Durley House.

A meeting room for up to 40 people, overlooking St. Stephens Green, is located on the first floor and is the perfect room for small corporate meetings, dinner parties, cocktail receptions and celebratory parties.

The Stein Group currently has a total of 11 hotels across Europe. Seven of these are located in the most frequently visited cities in Europe: The College Hotel in Amsterdam, Durley House and the Cadogan in London, Le Colbert in Paris, Brownes in Dublin and Gran Hotel La Florida in Barcelona. Next year the group will unveil Gran Hotel Son Julia in Mallorca, Alexander in Paris, Hotel Rodina on the Black Sea and in 2007 the Gran Hotel El Cortesin, Marbella.
