British Airways Celebrates International Fleet Review and HRH Visit with a Royal Fare Offer

British Airways

British Airways is celebrating the International Fleet Review and the visit of HRH Prince Henry of Wales (Prince Harry) with a special fare offer that gives British Airways customers the opportunity to travel like a royal.

From 8 October to 18 October, customers who purchase a Business Class return flight from Sydney to Singapore or London will receive a free upgrade to First Class on one leg of the trip.*

British Airways’ First brings together balanced privacy, comfort, space and contemporary British design, with only 14 seats in the cabin.  A la carte dining allows customers to enjoy a formal meal service, with white linen tablecloths and fine bone china that set the scene for a menu of British classics and regional dishes on specific routings. First customers also have access to the stunning Concorde Room at Heathrow T5, British Airways’ award winning home in London.

In a further show of support for the International Fleet Review, British Airways will be sponsoring a special performance of the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines. The one night only performance is on October 9 at the Capitol Theatre to mark the centenary of the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet arrival into Sydney Harbour.

Famed for their performances at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and around the world, the Royal Marines Band will showcase their acclaimed musical versatility and precision marching, performing military classics to jazz and big band favourites, music from the big screen and superb solo items. The 90-minute concert featuring 40 musicians will showcase the skill of the Royal Marines acquired through years of training in both the classroom and on the parade square.

Part of the proceeds of the performance will be donated to mates4mates, an organisation dedicated to supporting wounded, injured and ill Australian service personnel and their families. Donations assist in providing these brave Australians with the support and resources they need to live happy and successful lives.

Nicole Backo, Regional Commercial Manager of the South West Pacific at British Airways said, “It’s always a special event when a member of the British Royal Family visits Australia, and Prince Harry is no exception! The commemoration of the International Fleet Review is also major event on the calendar and a celebration of the great history of the Royal Australian Navy.

We are thrilled to be able to offer customers an opportunity to travel like a royal and take advantage of this free upgrade to First if they are planning to visit the home of the Royal Family or other destinations around Europe with British Airways.”

The Royal Marines Band one-night only performance takes place on 9 October 2013 at 7.30pm, Capitol Theatre Sydney. Tickets are now on sale starting from $49.00 and available to purchase through Ticketmaster.
