Sydney is lifting the lid this Summer with an event program that will dispatch 2021 to history and welcome a return to Sydney’s vibrant lifestyle. The big sailing events start with Australia Sail Grand Prix | Sydney, over two action-packed days from 17 December. National pride will be on the line as the Australia SailGP Team race against the sport’s best athletes from seven other nations. Captain Cook Cruises’ official spectator boats offer amazing views from inside the exclusion zone from $130 per person.

 

One week later a fleet of over 100 sailing vessels line up for the start of the Rolex Sydney to Hobart. Spectators can experience the 2021 blue-water classic in a variety of ways from the water. Pack a picnic and cruise from only $85 per person or brave the high seas and follow the fleet as far as Bondi from $109. For a less strenuous and more stylish approach to sailing, enjoy a superb 3½ hour lunch onboard Captain Cook Cruises’ flagship with a choice of Ocean Deck lounge bar seating from $99 per person, or $179 per person for a premium menu and drinks in the Club Deck restaurant.  

 

Everyone should experience a Christmas Day Lunch on Sydney Harbour at least once in their lives. Nowhere in the world does New Year’s Eve glitz like Sydney. After a lean farewell to a disappointing 2020, Sydney has put the dazzle back into New Year’s Eve. Both the 9pm and midnight fireworks are back, with lighting displays starting from 8.30pm. A flotilla of brightly lit vessels will again parade around the harbour and a new Welcome to Country pyrotechnic show will feature dancers, whale, and emu totems.

 

Guests onboard Captain Cook Cruises’ flagship, Sydney 2000, will enjoy prime position cruising inside the exclusion zone with front row seats to the New Year’s Eve fireworks, live music, superior wines, spirits, liqueurs, premium champagne at midnight, and a choice of menus and decks. The Club Deck features a deluxe buffet and individual table seating from $799 per person, while the water-level Ocean Deck has relaxed lounge and high-table bar seating with continuous roving canapes and bar food from $699 per person.

Enter 2022 and the celebrations continue with the all-new ELEVATE Sydney Festival and a nightly sky show 1-6 January. Over 500 drones will perform a dazzling aerial display each evening at 10pm over Sydney Cove, making it the perfect finale to a Captain Cook Cruises’ Brilliant Dinner from $115 per person.
