The latest challenge faced by Project Luangwa in Zambia has been to help local schoolgirls acquire school blouses. After handing out the shirts it was apparent that most of the girls did not possess a bra and the few that did were ill-fitting. All women will know that even running up and down the stairs without a bra is difficult enough, let alone playing outside and behaving like a schoolgirl. So Project Luangwa is asking for donations to provide local girls with your second hand bras.
That bra in the back of your drawer, which you might not wear again, could be a wonderful piece of treasure to a girl in Luangwa. The bras most in demand are 30" C, D, DD and upwards (nothing over size 34 as the girls in Zambia have slight frames) and naturally the most popular colour is pink.
Aardvark Safaris is very supportive of this fantastic campaign and is encouraging its clients travelling to Zambia to donate bras. Equally the company would be delighted to pass on any further details to enable people to donate to such a great cause.
Project Luangwa is a registered charity and supports 20 schools around the Mfuwe area, otherwise known as the gateway to the South Luangwa National Park which is one of Zambia's finest safari destinations.
