Bridal Party Celebrates in Luxury and Old Florida Charm at Steinhatchee Landing Resort

Steinhatchee Landing Resort

Standing tall amid the moss-draped oaks and soaring pines of Steinhatchee Landing Resort, the Gothic-style Dancing Waters Chapel greets guests at the Resorts front entrance.

This 2,000-square-foot structure seats 125 persons and features 12-foot tall stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings, bride and groom dressing areas, and superb acoustics. Antique wood derived from a 1800s Georgian Hotel is incorporated into the doors, windows and interior walls. A ledge surrounding the interior reflects plates engraved with the names of those married here. Dancing Waters Chapel provides a classic romantic setting for the most memorable of days.

Not far from the chapel is the Resorts outdoor gazebo. Surrounded by a sprawling lawn, water garden and lush greenery, the gazebo is perfect for smaller weddings, vow renewals and anniversary observances. The setting is also ideal for live entertainment and catered events.

The Resorts magnificent honeymoon cottages offer the bride and groom an elegant beginning to their lives together. Nestled in the peaceful woods near the Resorts main office, the one-bedroom cottages line a private gravel drive hugged by natural Florida landscape. A spacious front porch welcomes guests into luxuriously decorated villa-style accommodations that rival the most elegant five-star resort. As in the Landings other cottages, fresh flowers greet each guest upon arrival in the large main room featuring a bedroom area and sitting/dining area appointed with rich, French country-style furniture and dcor, a 32 television with VCR, and stereo with CD player. Solid wood nightstands embrace king-sized beds complete with down comforters and exquisite linens.

Rich, solid wood floors are covered with hand-chosen area rugs, and the rafters and hearth contain antique wood accents taken from a Georgian hotel built in 1836. Dimmable lighting and a large, glass-enclosed gas fireplace add a touch of romance and warmth to the main room.

Situated in the wall separating the main room and spacious bathroom, the fireplace can also be enjoyed while soaking in the oversized spa tub with twin-heated backrests. The state-of-the-art, Ultra Thermo Masseur tubs are surrounded by lavish Italian marble and feature separate hand-held and rain-head showers. Each bath contains a TV set into the wall and comes complete with oversized towels, luxurious bathrobes and Gilchrist & Soames deluxe bath and spa products. Like Steinhatchee Landings other accommodations, each of the Honeymoon Cottages features a fully equipped kitchen, complete with a refrigerator, dishwasher, small stove and washer/dryer. The kitchen area leads to the rear of each unit and opens to an outdoor patio with a grill. Three of the units overlook the creek and feature a screened-in back porch.

An on-site wedding coordinator is assigned to assist the couple with every detail of their big day, from catering and flowers to reception festivities and photography. The perfect reception locale may be found in the Landings Georgian-style Banquet Hall, outside along the Steinhatchee River or on the lawn of the Victorian Cottage. Steinhatchee Landing provides outstanding catering services, with menus customized for the individual group and budget.

The Resorts many amenities are available to all cottage guests, including complimentary continental breakfast daily, pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. Steinhatchee Landing can also arrange fishing trips, scallop trips (in season), off-property canoe adventures and guided nature excursions for bird watching and hiking. Several restaurants are located just minutes from the Resort, serving up the finest in Florida seafood.

The Landing is situated on the lush banks of the peaceful Steinhatchee River, three miles upstream from the Gulf of Mexico. For reservations, rates or wedding and romance packages, call (352) 498-3513, toll-free (800) 584-1709 or visit www.SteinhatcheeLanding.com.
