The kitchen area boats a full-size oven and a fridge (with ice-box), the bespoke dining table converts into a double bed and there is a cosy wood-burner too. The other double bed is tucked up at mezzanine level with a porthole window looking out to blissful country views. Guests can take their dog along with them, and there are footpaths surrounding the site. Dartmoor and the sandy beaches of the north Devon coast are close by too.

All aboard for a holiday with a difference! Vida is a unusual glamping retreat, literally floating in the water of Bembridge Harbour on the Isle of Wight. The open plan living-room consists of a small sitting area and dining area with an electric heater and a TV, plus a compact fitted kitchen with a two-ring induction hob, combination microwave and a fridge (with ice-box). As standard, the wet-room includes hot and cold running water and the bonus of under-floor heating. The bed is tucked away on the 'bed shelf' up the steep stairs, where there is a cosy double mattress (the headroom is limited) and a hatch with glorious views out to sea. There is plenty to see and do close by – stroll just a few steps to the famous Cobb, you can be at the famous Hix Oyster & Fish House in ten minutes, wander up and down Marine Parade, explore the high street or visit the Lyme Regis Museum and Marine Theatre.

A super-sized shepherd's hut in rural Devon sleeping up to 5! Nestled in the corner of a field facing onto a gentle hillside with glorious views for miles and stunning sunsets. At 36 feet long, there's plenty of space to relax and the open plan living area includes a warming wood-burner, a TV and a fully-fitted kitchen with full-sized gas cooker and fridge. The pretty bedrooms are at either end, one a double and one a triple. There is of course an en suite shower-room with hot and cold running water. The hut has lots of 'green' credentials too – solar panels, wildlife boxes, rainwater recycling and more. Shepherd's Sky is set on the outskirts of the mid-Devon village of Cheriton Fitzpaine – you can walk to the local pub and there is a farm shop with a lovely café on the other side of the village.
Opening at the end of February 2017. Prices from £13 per person per night.
Black Pig Safari Tent Retreats
A brand new safari tent site near the delightful town of Shaftesbury, Dorset. A real get-away-from-it-all location, part of Bittles Brook Farm, an equestrian facility with dogs, horses, chickens and sheep on site too. As the name suggests, the star attraction is Beauty the Large Black pig who inspired the name of this charming place. Carrying on the theme, the tents are named after breeds of black pigs from around the world – Murciano (a breed from Murcia, Spain) and Gascon (a breed from the Midi-Pyrenees region of France) and Mukota (a breed from northern Zimbabwe). All have en suite facilities (and electric) with spectacular panoramic views. Murciano and Gascon are set together in a wildflower meadow but private from each other and both sleep up to 6. Mukota is nestled in another meadow separate to the other two tents and sleeps up to 4.
Opening at the end of May 2017. Prices from £12 (Murciano and Gascon) or £14 (Mukota) per person per night.
Please note that the site is still in the build stage at present so the winter photos do not do it any justice.
