This month Pan Pacific Perth will be hosting the 'Borderless Gandhi Presents Mahatma in Colour' exhibition, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's enduring values of peace, equality and nonviolence.

On display in three venues including the hotel's lobby, Perth Airport and Parliament House from 2 October (Gandhi's birthday) until 9 November 2018, the unique exhibition is the latest offering from by Borderless Gandhi, established in Perth in 2014 by Nilesh and Lene Makwana to educate, inform and promote Mahatma Gandhi's values within Australia through art and community engagement.

Collated by the GandhiServe Foundation and curated by Lene Makwana, the exhibition showcases a revealing series of biographical photographs of Gandhi in everyday situations. These were taken by Gandhi's own family members, journalists and colleagues throughout his adult life from the early 1900s until his death in 1948, and they evocatively capture the social and environmental context of the time. Now, each image has been carefully digitally restored and overlaid with colour, transforming them into colourful, artistic representations of Gandhi that promote his life, work and legacy, and communicate his ongoing relevance to contemporary audiences.
