Bookings Uplift For 2014 Camping Season

The Camping and Caravanning Club

The appeal in camping and caravanning is showing no signs of diminishing after The Camping and Caravanning Club experienced a robust start to member bookings for the 2014 season during the opening two weeks of trading.

According to early analytical data, there was a 17 per cent increase in bookings made via the Club’s website (www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk) and of those online transactions, there was a large increase in mobile and tablet users.

In response to an increase in digital usage, the latest and most competitive prices are now available on the Club’s website.

Some of the Club Sites that have proved to be most popular with members to date include: Keswick, Braithwaite Fold, Scone Palace, Luss and Boroughbridge.

Bob Hill, Sites Director, said: “This exclusive member-only booking period is a great member benefit and we hope to continue to keep this positive momentum going into the New Year.

“It’s interesting to note where campers have made an early decision to secure a booking. Both Luss and Scone Palace for example are located within half an hour’s drive to key sporting events such as The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and The Ryder Cup in Gleneagles. Likewise our Boroughbridge Club Site is close to the Yorkshire leg of the Tour de France cycling route.

“With many hotels and B&Bs having increased their prices around the time of these international events - camping is certainly proving to be an inexpensive accommodation option.”

The Club is offereing great value across its network of sites; members will benefit from lower adult pitch night prices at 38 sites in high-season compared to 2013. A further 31 sites have lower mid-season prices and 56 sites have lower low season prices.

The Club’s Members’ Family Deal has also been improved resulting in lower family prices at 20 sites in high season and more than 30 in mid-season. Additionally, children will also always be able to camp for half price!

Bob Hill added: “With our on-going network development programme in full swing, the money generated from our bookings will allow us to continue to improve our site network and long term sustainability whilst offering both members and non-members high standards of campsite in sought after locations across the UK.”
