Book Early For October Half Term Says Coastal Cottages Of Pembrokeshire

Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire

With the summer school holidays now over - or about to end - thoughts will be turning to October half term, the last school holiday before the on-set of winter.

After a scorching summer, Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire reckons demand for the UK will continue to be 'on a roll' and recommends that families book early to get the half-term property of their choice.

'Family-sized' cottages include Fairfield, a traditional stone house (sleeping six) set on the hillside above the small town of St Dogmaels on the picturesque Teifi Estuary. It retains many original features such as slate floors and sash windows and has two sitting rooms, both with woodburning stoves.

Outside it has terraced garden - with views of the estuary and St Dogmael's Abbey - and, for fans of the beach, fun can be had at Poppit Sands - just one mile away. Poppit Sands is also the starting point of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. A seven-night holiday from 26 October is priced at £499.

For larger families - or two small families planning a half-term getaway together-  the company recommends New Cross House, a handsome period detached property in the tiny city of St Davids, complete with a games room in the attic and an outdoor entertainment area with hot tub, sauna and covered firepit.

It also has a walled garden with lots of space for children to play, shops, galleries and restaurants are 'on the doorstep' and the Caerfai beach is less than a mile away.   A week's holiday from 25 October costs £1141.

The company is also highlighting the Ivy Tower Village at St Florence near Tenby, home to 19 privately-owned properties and featuring a range of on-site facilities including indoor pool, gym and tennis court. Seven nights from 26 October in the Malt House (sleeping four), for example cost £568.
