Blu Bar, floating high above the glittering lights of Sydney Harbour, has created a unique, inventive style of cocktail called Liquid Physics, which will have serious drink connoisseurs milling around for a masterclass in mixology.
Liquid Physics was months in the making. It is a technique that harnesses the science of energy, movement and force to craft a world-class cocktail experience reminiscent of the care and precision seen in the freewheeling bartending days of the roaring '20s.
The team came together with one goal in mind: Enhance the style, creativity and art of a cocktail.
“It's all about savouring a well-made drink and enjoying the showmanship by the most passionate bunch of mixologists in town,” says Patrick Pena, Blu Bar manager.
A taste of Blu Bar's Liquid Physics cocktails include:
Aurora: Gin, apricot liqueur, mixed berry syrup, lemon and pineapple juice topped with a delicate rhubarb and berry espuma foam. An intoxicating spell.
Clockwork Old Fashion: A thyme-less blend of aged Grand Marnier, Maraschino liqueur and Bacardi Oro infused with orange and lemon peel, tonka beans and a touch of cinnamon for good measure.
Nectar from the Orient: An exotic blend of Cointreau, Bombay Gin and green tea artfully combined with mango puree and elderflower. Tea with a twist.
Smoking Mistress: A sensual mix of bourbon, peach liqueur and Montenegro stirred through with walnut bitters and smoked tea. The secret you'll want to share.
This spot serves serious cocktails by talented bartenders presiding over a sleek space brimming with Sydney-siders and visitors alike.
The breathtaking views of the Emerald city's trifecta – The Harbour Bridge, Opera House and harbour lights – enhance the sparkling, shimmering glamour of Sydney's signature destination bar.
