Blenheim Palace

Oxford-based sustainability media agency Green.TV is launching a brand new electric vehicle event, hosted at Blenheim Palace on May 7th and 8th

EV LIVE will be set against the magnificent backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and will showcase a huge range of electric cars and other vehicles.

Britain's greatest palace will also host MG, Ford, The RAC, Electric Zoo and many more, who will all be present on the day.

Attendees also already have the chance to book test drives in a range of vehicles from spacious SUVs like the Volvo XC40 and coupés like the BMW i4 to compact commuters, electric scooters and much more; there will be something there for everyone.

Ade Thomas, CEO and Founder of Green.TV Media, said: “Blenheim Palace have a commitment to go net zero by 2027. We're delighted to be working with Blenheim Palace on the EV LIVE event to encourage consumers to choose zero-emissions vehicles.

“EV LIVE, at Blenheim Palace, will bring education around EVs, with test drives, education and sustainability at the core of the event.”

The RAC will even be providing free breakdown assistance for all attendees throughout the event.

The event will also provide up to date information on home charging options there are on offer - showcasing charging solutions from Zaptec and EVIE Chargers - and how to get the most out of the UK's public charging network.

Oli Leaver, head of the RAC's EV Experts team, said: “It's important for anyone considering making the switch to electric to have the opportunity to test drive an EV, possibly for the first time, and to speak to on-hand experts about how to get the best value and ownership experience. EV LIVE is a great event for people to do both.”

Heather Carter, Operations Director at Blenheim Palace said: “We are excited to be hosting EV LIVE at Blenheim Palace in 2022. We are already EV converts ourselves, having started to electrify our estate fleet back in 2018.

“Now we are looking forward to hosting this new event at the Palace to encourage our visitors to switch to an electric vehicle and reduce their emissions on the road,” she added.

Entry to the event is included free with Palace, Park and Gardens tickets. Visitors can opt to donate the cost of their Palace, Park and Gardens ticket and convert it to an Annual Pass. Entrance is free for Annual Pass holders with no need to book; just present a valid pass on arrival.

As part of its 10 Goals Strategy, Blenheim is committed to becoming carbon neutral on scopes 1-3 of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol across all its operations by 2027 and, beyond that, to remove 230,000 tonnes CO2e from the atmosphere by 2050.

It operates its own fleet of electric cars and vans and has installed charging points at its estate office and outside the Palace.

Car-free visitors also receive a 30% discount on Palace, Park & Garden tickets when they purchase them online and show proof of travel by bus, train or bike on arrival.
