A specialist Heli-Ski charter will pick guests up from the Blanket Bay lawn and whisk them off to experience the thousands of acres of untracked snow with their own personal guide.

About Blanket Bay:

The land where Blanket Bay stands was purchased by current owner Tom Tusher in 1972. San Francisco based Tom and his wife Pauline built the lodge they still own and operate and spend 4 to 5 months a year on property. A team of local staff, many of whom have been part of local life for more than 4 decades, are like family to the Tusher's.

Set in one of the world's most exquisite alpine settings on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Blanket Bay is just 40 minutes drive from Queenstown.

Accommodation at Blanket Bay comprises 12 rooms in total

In the Main Lodge:

  • Five intimate Lakeside Lodge Rooms with their own balcony or terrace in the main Lodge

  • Three magnificent Lodge Suites with generous private terraces

And:

  • Four superb Chalet Suites opening to lawns and gardens

    All guest rooms are filled with sumptuous furnishings and elegant rugs. Natural materials are showcased throughout echoing the lodges interaction and integration with the natural environment. Needless to say, all guest rooms have breathtaking views of the lake and mountain scenery.

    Dinning at Blanket Bay is a special occasion every night. Award winning Head Chef Corey Hume creates an à la carte menu which changes daily, showcasing a range of local produce and indigenous produce as well as imported delicacies.
