Green Promise: For the Bay We Love — Uniting Communities, Travellers and Industry to Preserve the Natural Beauty of Ha Long Bay Through Collective Environmental Action and Sustainable Tourism Initiatives
Halong Bay, Vietnam, May 2026: Leading Vietnamese cruise operator Bhaya Cruises has announced the return of its annual environmental initiative, Clean The Bay 2026: Green Promise – For the Bay We Love, taking place on May 28, 2026, in the UNESCO World Heritage destination of Ha Long Bay.
Now entering its ninth year, the initiative continues Bhaya Cruises' long-standing commitment to sustainable tourism and marine conservation in one of Vietnam's most iconic natural landscapes. Originally launched in 2017, Clean the Bay has evolved into a collaborative platform bringing together travel partners, NGOs, volunteers, local communities, and environmentally conscious travellers in a united effort to preserve the beauty and ecological health of Ha Long Bay.
This year's program will take place aboard Au Co Cruise and will feature a series of hands-on environmental activities designed to create meaningful impact across the bay. Participants will engage in kayaking and tender boat clean-up activities, waste sorting and environmental impact recording, as well as sustainability awareness sessions focused on responsible tourism and ocean conservation.
The day will conclude with a sunset summer free flow gathering featuring music, unlimited refreshments, and a celebration of the collective efforts made toward protecting the bay for future generations.
“Clean the Bay is more than an annual event for us, it represents a long-term commitment to safeguarding the natural heritage of Ha Long Bay,” said Mr Nam, CEO of Bhaya Cruises. “Through this initiative, we hope to inspire both travellers and industry partners to take meaningful action and recognise that even the smallest efforts can contribute to preserving the bay for generations to come. Sustainability must remain at the heart of how we travel, operate, and engage with the environment.”
As sustainable travel continues to shape the future of global tourism, Bhaya Cruises remains committed to integrating responsible environmental practices across its operations while encouraging greater awareness and participation within the travel industry.
Clean The Bay 2026 is open to invited guests from the travel industry, volunteers, environmental advocates, and members of the public wishing to support a cleaner and greener future for Ha Long Bay.
