Beverly Hills and Century City: Where Celebrities Dine and Shop Next Door to a World-Class Photography Museum

A Farmers' Market Frequented by Celebrity Chefs, Luxury Hotels Where Fashionistas and Foodies Indulge, and the Annenberg Space for Photography are Within Minutes of One Another

LOS ANGELES—(April 22, 2012)—The City of Beverly Hills is known around the world as the playground to the stars.  In fact, this upscale, 5.7-square-mile city is home to many of them, as well as to 900 posh retailers (including the luxury, designer boutiques of Rodeo Drive), top talent agencies, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which hosts the annual Academy Awards.  In addition, since 1974, The Beverly Hilton Hotel has held the annual Golden Globe Awards, welcoming celebrities to its International Ballroom via more than 30,000 square feet of red carpet.

This tour covers two backstage glimpses into how celebrities dine and shop.   A well-known chef will guide guests through the fresh produce (and people-watching scene) at the celebrity-laden Beverly Hills Farmers' Market.  The group will then spend the afternoon on a private shopping tour of famed Rodeo Drive and enjoy a retail outing to boutiques and hidden spaces with a renowned stylist.

Katsuo "Suki" Sugiura, executive chef at The Beverly Hilton Hotel and reigning executive chef for the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards, will personally escort participants through the Beverly Hills Farmers' Market, offering a glimpse into what goes into creating the multi-course, seated dinner.  The award-winning chef sources produce for his posh affairs at the Market, which takes place each Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Tour guests will meet Chef Suki's favorite culinary purveyors and learn how visitors can experience this red carpet-worthy epicurean experience every day at CIRCA 55 Restaurant at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

At Beverly Hills' newest hotel, the Montage Beverly Hills, guests will meet Joe Katz, the hotel's in-house stylist, who will escort the group on a walking tour of the City's commercial district, providing insight into his partnerships with the finest shops and boutiques on Rodeo Drive.  His in-the-know update will include the newest arrivals, discounts and special events. Whether guests are looking to revamp an entire wardrobe, unveil a stunning gown for a gala event or simply thank someone special with a distinctive gift, Katz is the ultimate guide to all things glitz and glamour.

Next door in Century City, guests will visit the Annenberg Space for Photography, located on the former site of the Shubert Theatre.  This intimate space, which offers free admission to the public, features an interior design influenced by the workings of a camera and its lens and presents rotating exhibits.  Its current show is Digital Darkroom, a group exhibit by renowned photographers using technology and manual methods of image manipulation to create works of art.   Among the photographers shown are Jerry Uelsmann, Brooke Shaden, Josef Astor, Jean-François Rauzier; and Chris Levine, who shot the first 3D photos of Queen Elizabeth II.

Brooke Shaden's photographs seem like little films, complete with character, tension and a lush visual sense that might easily be called cinematography.
